Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

my asylum individual /final hearing was conducted on nyc immigration court on may 2014 after 2 years of wait but after the final hearing ,the judge said he was unable to give the instant decision on my case right way but gave me another date september 2014 to pick up the decision .moreover he told that the decision might be mailed prior to that date.i am confused help me.
