If you have been waiting a long time for the adjudication of your naturalization application, you should consider filing a complaint in a federal district court to compel the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to make a decision on your application.
Delays of up to a year are usually normal, but if you have been waiting since 2005, it is advisable to file a mandamus action in federal court. Usually, the USCIS delays are attributable to background and FBI clearances that are required to complete an application. A federal complaint usually helps expedite the process.
