Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

daughter sponsoring mother

is it ok to sponsor a parent who is currently residing here in ny and the daughter (principal sponsor) residing in another countery?or would it be better is the daughter sponsor her mom in the country where she's at presently? please anyone help me...thanks

If you reside outside the USA, you need to file your petition for your mother at the Consulate or US Embassy that has jurisdiction over where you live.
