Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

Deportable/removable?

Does the fact of being involved in the prostitution case with dropped later charges make a permanent green card holder removable? Is it safe to travel outside US?

Re: Deportable/removable?

If the charges against you were ultimately dismissed then you should not be removable. Similarly, you should not have any issues traveling outside of and returning to the U.S. Of course, it is always best to consult with an attorney to ensure that there are no other issues of inadmissibility or deportability.

Re: Deportable/removable?

I would need more information regarding your particular case before I can comment on it properly.

I cannot comment on the seriousness of the prostitution case because I do not know on what grounds the charges was brought or dropped.

However, being involved in any prostitution case will be seen as a very serious matter. Even though the case was dropped the information may

remain on file.

Were you charged with any offense?
