Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

My employer offered me and my wife a green card (on their expense) but with the exception that I have to stay with the company for 2 years or else we incur all the fees for both our green cards. Is this legal?

Hello:

Each State Law has differences in it's Labor Laws. However, on the Immigration side of things, you have to have the permanent intention to remain with the company. This could later change, but considering the contract only limits it to 2 years, this might run in violation of the immigration laws.
