Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York
F-1 visa, out of status ?
I had F-1 Visa, out of status for over a year and when I was enrolled/legal status, I was given a legitimate Social #.
Is there a way to gain a permanent resident status since I have a legit SS number?

The social security number will not give you any legal status in the United States. You may be eligible to file another visa application to obtain status in the US.

Re: F-1 visa, out of status ?
To obtain a legal status after you overstayed your visa is possible only if you obtain a waiver for your illegal presence in USA.
Having legitimate social security number does not give you any rights.
You should contact a lawyer to see if you can be helped.
