Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

Facing Deportation

Hello, and thanks for reading my ?. My cousin is in prison he is doing 30 month he is coming out on 6/27/07. It Is a drug related case he was charged with distribution of drugs. He came to USA in 1992 with his father and sister he was only 12 yrs old. Then his father became a citizen in 1996 when he was just 16. Both his parents where married and then got divorced. My cousin is married for 2 1/2 years and his wife is a citizen they don't have any kids. He has never been in trouble with the law. My Question is can he appeal his deportation? i belive the N-600 form kind of applies to his case i belive he was supposed to become a citizen automaticaly because he was a minor when his father became a citizen he has been in this country for 14 yrs never lived anywhere else. Please if there's any advise that anyone could give us will be very appreciated, we are seeking advise and asap because i belive that time is an escence to this case. Thank You

Re: Facing Deportation

What country is he from? Who had legal custody of him in the divorce? All these questions are relevant in ascertaining whether he is a derivative citizen.

You should contact an immigration attorney to discuss the facts of the case to determine whether your cousin is a derivative citizen. If he is, it may save him from being deported.
