Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York
Good Morning, My husband was born in Nicaragua and came to the United States 32 years ago and has been a legal resident for 25 years. He just renewed his residency in August and received his new resident card good for ten years but the question we have is that he has a Traffic Violation Case and the DA wants him to plead guilty to a VTL under the traffic law with a E-Felony, if he pleads guilty to this charge and takes the 5 year probation will his residency be taken away and will he be deported back to Nicaragua?

You need to hire an experienced immigration attorney if you do not already have one. I assume that your husband has a criminal defense attorney who may not understand immigration consequences.
