Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York
I am a Greek citizen and have just entered the US on a visitor's visa. My sister if an American Citizen. Can she sponsor me for permanent residency while I'm here? Can I remain here until the paper work goes through?

Your sister can file an I-130 for you, but it will be years before a visa is available for you. Until then you would need to maintain a lawful status in the US. The main option would be through employment, using an H-1b or other work based visa.
