Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

I am a green card asylum. I got when my mother applied asylum and I was under 18. So I was under her case. My green card category is as8. Now, I am married and have 1 child, I would like to petition my wife who is on F-1 visa. My question is can a green card category as8 petition a relative like in my case my wife?

If you are now a permanent residence (meaning you have a green card), it does not matter what your status was before. You can petition for family members just like any other legal permanent resident. You must be sure, however, that your situation meets all of the other requirements for a proper petition.

If you'd like to discuss your case further, please feel free to contact me. Best of luck to you and your family.
