Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York
Hey. My friend is an international student on F1 vias. He was caught shoplifting a couple of days ago in New York. No police were called, and no civil demand was mentioned. The security guy took him to the office, and asked for his ID. My friend has been very very sad about what he has done, and he cannot sleep or eat. He called the store yesterday, and apologized for what he has done. The security guard was very nice to him and told him not to worry, and my friend asked if he would need to pay for a fine, the security said no. Does that mean he is not getting a civil demand? But he was told to stay away from the store for two months. How will this incident affect his future and job application? If he leaves the country, and wants to re-apply for the visa, can he still get it? He has been really really depressed for these days, please help!!!!
