Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York
Hi,
I have a problem here, and would like your help please.
This is the problem: The last time I entered to this country was with a B2 visa and I over stayed for few months now. Before that I had F1 visa that has been canceled because I stopped going to school. So,The immigration officers came knocking my door, but fortunately for me, they did not find me home. They told my roommate that they need me to sign some papers because I over stayed. Obviously, they mean deportation's papers. So, I never went to them or signed any paper. Now, I am getting married and would like to know, if I would face any problem while I am filling for Green Card and adjustment of status through marriage? Would be in deportation process or court or any thing like this? Or would be just like any ordinary case?
I am so looking forward to hearing from you and I am so thankful for all your help and advice in advance.

Hello:
Based upon the information you have provided, you do not yet have a deportation order and you entered the U.S. legally. Therefore, you should be able to adjust your status in the U.S. if done properly.
