Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

Hopeless ex-fiancee

I came with a K-1 fiancee visa, but I did not marry

the man whom I was supposed to, neither did I return

home. Now I am married to somebody else who expects

his greencard soon. We still were able to adjust the

file, by sending the marriage certificate & the

necessary papers.

When can I expect to get at least a workpermit (after

my husband gets his greencard) in the near future?

I know that the K-1 without getting married is the

worst status I can be at, any suggestions please?

Thank you.

Re: Hopeless ex-fiancee

this is a complicated case. Generally, when one enters on a K visa, she must either marry the petitioner within 90 days or leave the country. The status lapses after this time so, at this time, you have no legal status in the country.
