Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York
Immigration Info
I entered the country over 9 years ago as a student and after 3 years I got married to a citizen out of good faith but he didn't know my status and he thought I was only marrying fo my green card. After 3 months of marriage he decided to up and leave without a trace, I've been searching for him for years and I'm now in the process of divorcing him but I wanted to know if I should go through with the divorce and figure out another way to get my green card or should I try some other way to get my green card through this marriage since it's been almost four years? What should I do?

Re: Immigration Info
You might be entitled to file for green card on your own, but more information is needed to figure this out.

Re: Immigration Info
You will have to provide more information about your case; however, you may be qualified as Self Petitioning Spouse. The key factor is that you entered a marriage in a good faith and intended to establish a life together with your spouse at the time of the marriage.
