Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York
immigration
I have a question, regarding a immigration case. What exactly, can you do when you have been granted green card finalized by a judge, after ur case was finalized. It has been 2 years now that the green card still hasnt arrived. When we go to give reminder at the federal plaza, they refuse to give any reason and tell us that they will pass the message on. When we went to our lawyer, who was fighting the case, he claims he has nothing to do with this anymore! since the case is granted and done!...What exactly can i do concerning this matter? the green card was promised to be issued within 6-9 months. and It has been 2 years, should i rehire another lawyer? or go back and contact the lawyer who was taking care of the case. However, everything is done, and granted. But it has taken way to long, and now its been causing a problem. I wanted to know what you think i should do? hire a lawyer and send him to get the file, and see what the issue is. But how can i be really waiting? when everything is done, why is it taking so long. I would really appreciate ur concern with my matter. Please give me ur advice. thank you. and god bless

Re: immigration
there might be a few reasons why you have not received your green card and depending on the reason, there are different ways to make USCIS issue a new green card. Please contact our firm so that we can help you to find out why you did not receive it yet.
Re: immigration
You are caught in the delays that have been resulting as a result of name checks and FBI clearances. USCIS is taking a VERY long time to issue green cards, often citing "pending security clearances" as a result. Even though your adjustment of status application was approved by a judge, it is the USCIS that must issue the card. But due to the delays, it is unclear how long you would have to wait.
You may file a lawsuit against the USCIS in a federal court to force them to do their job and issue a green card.
