Re: improving my B1 or B2 status

There are several ways to obtain a permanent visa, more commonly known as a green card. The main ways are through:

1) Family. An immediate family member sponsoring you, such as a spouse, parent or child.

2) Employment. An US employer sponsoring you, there are several types of foreign nationals that can qualify under this catergory eg. skilled workers, individuals with extraordinary ability in arts, science or business and professionals who have at least a bachelors degree.

3) Investment. Establishing a commercial business in the USA, investing at least $500,000 in that business and providing jobs for US residents.
