internet love

This is a second posting as i have not had any reply.

I have two questions

q1) What are immigration view on people who start their relationship on the internet.

q2) If a couple who started their relationship on the internet, who have not met in person, but eventually do and after a long period decides to get married, even though this has been discussed previously, how do immigration view the relationship if one is a uk citizen.

Re: internet love

Immigration is dubious of all relationships until you convince them that the relationship is legitimate. They also tend to take the traditional position that you have to meet someone in person to really know them. Good luck!

Re: internet love

Q1 is mostly relevant for fiance visas. If the persons in question are already married and maintain a bona fide marriage, how their relationship started may not be as critical. For Q2, citizenship of the non-U.S. person is generally not relevant to the issue of obtaining

lawful permanent residency through marriage to the U.S. citizen/LPR.

The above reply is in the nature of general information, is not legal advice and should not be relied on as such.
