You may be able to file for adjustment of status for your husband (depending on whether he entered the country on a visa or not). If you plan to do so, be advised that on July 30, 2007, the USCIS is significantly increasing the filing fees for all of its applications. You will save at least a thousand dollars by filing the application before the 30th.

yes, you can sponsor your husband for green card provided he entered legally. If not you may have to look into other factor for eligibility.

You might be able to apply for you husband's adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident (green card holder).
