Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

HOw long does it usually take to get the approval or deny notice?

I came on F-1 and became out-of-

status 3 months after. Years passed,

and I got married; my I-130 is

approved and I recently applied for

adjustment because my spouse just

became a USC. I had my interview

for AOS 3 months ago, but the officer

couldn't make the decision because

needed additional documents. I

mailed it a week later and I still

haven't gotten any answer yet. Is

that normal?

That is normal. It could take up to 60 days (and sometimes even longer) to make a decision on a case. You should not worry about the fact that you became out of status, as long as you entered legally and have not left the United States. When you marry a U.S. Citizen, your unlawful stay is basically excused.
