Re: Marriage

Congratulations on your impending marriage! You can get married either in New York or in Nevada, it is a matter of personal preference. In terms of the requirements, you both should be legally free to marry (either never have been married before or divorced). In New York, the city clerk would need to see government-issued IDs for both of you. In New York, you will first need to get your marriage license and next day you can get married. If you would like to retain an immigration attorney to apply for a green card for your wife after you get married, I would be happy to help you.

Re: Marriage

The process of getting married does not differ greatly from state to state and you are free to choose where you marry.

As far as sponsoring your wife for immigration benefits, you must must file the relevant paperwork with USCIS and it is important that she have proof of entry into the U.S., a review of her criminal history (if any) and general eligiblity for permanent residence.

Good luck!
