Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York
I have been married 2 years in April, and I have a 2-year green card which expires in 2014. I married in good faith but I am now miserable and want a divorce. What will happen to my residency status?

Hi,
If the marriage was entered into in good-faith, but results in divorce, it is possible to file the petition to remove the conditions on residence singly (as opposed to jointly with the cooperation of your spouse). Assigning blame for the divorce to the other spouse, or claiming "abused spouse" status, is not required). Please call our immigration law firm at 212-268-3580 during business hours to arrange to discuss your case in more detail.
