Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York
I was married for over 3 years and had filled for my green card. My ex wife was away in the armed forces and cheated and became pregnant. She threatened that if I didn't sign the divorce she would have me deported. If you look from when my marriage started and ended while we were legally married she gave birth to a child and my name is not on the child's birth certificate. Is there anything I can do.

Unfortunately we see these cases too often. There are a couple of facts that need clarification. First, did you ever receive your green card? Second, how did you enter the U.S. (visa or otherwise)? Third, do you have any criminal history? Four, do you have documentation of her threats (i.e. text messages, facebook posts or emails)? Cases regarding threats are usually factually based and the "cleaner" you are the more credibility to your claims. Feel free to give us a call and we can see what can be done to help you.
