Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

permanent residency

i'm a singer and a songwriter and i'm currently signed to an indie (up&coming) record label. they want to start touring so is it possible that the record label can sponsor me for permanent residency. i came to the u.s.a legally. if they can how long is the process and how much is the cost? also is it better to work with a lawyer?
