Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York
Hello, I'm a permanent resident for 4 years now. I will be going for my graduate degree to the UK and will stay there for the next 1-4 years. If I remember right I saw some form on Homeland Security website that after being filled out and sent to them, held a resident sort of "forgiven" for being absent in the country, so that he/she could apply for a citizenship at the same time as if he/she would live in the US without leaving. Is there such thing? Could you name the form?
Thank you very much.

Hello:
Your "Green Card" is good to reenter the U.S. for up to one year. After that time, you must file an application to show you did not abandon your residency.
