Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

I have a very serious question ive met a woman 2 years ago and we got married and after while i sent my papers to the immigration to get my papers but now just before the interview she told me that she doesnt love me anymore and she has found someone else,she told me that if i won't pay her she will send me back to my country and she will also call the police and tell them that i wanted to rape her.please tell me what to do.thank you

Sorry to hear about your situation.

Your wife cannot just get you deported by making a phone call. As for the threats she is making, you are best to legally separate or divorce, & get a restraining order against her. I would recommend contacting a Family Law Attorney.

As far as your immigration issue goes, a "battered" spouse (one who is physically or verbally or emotionally abused by their U.S. citizen spouse) can file a special application for a greencard. However, the applicant must be able to prove the abuse, through written evidence.

I don't know what your status is now, when your interview was, etc., so it is difficult to give you any more advice than that. You might want to consult with an Immigration Attorney, such as myself, and provide them with your documents to review, in order to be able to obtain a better opinion on your options at this time.
