ready for citizenship

how many years u need to work in the us to be eligible for citizenship ,because they say you can be denied citizenship if you did not work for a certain period.

I think there is a possible problem in your understanding of US immigratiuon law.

1. Citizenship is not in any way dependant or related to years working in the United States.

2. You must be very careful becuae, if you have a visa that (i) does not give you the privilege of working in the US, then if (ii) you do work while in the US (iii) that would mean that you have 'violated your status'.

That 'violation of status' can have an impact on whether you qualify for citizenship at all.

To qualify for citizenship (an upgrade of your visa status), you must at all times be 'in status'.

3. If you are here on a work permit (green card), then you may apply for citizenship after a certain number of years.
