Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

state id

hi if i already got my state id can i leave my green card in a safe place or should i always bring it with me?hope you can answer this.

You obviously need to carry your green card with you whenever you depart the U.S. You may also need it when you change jobs to prove that you are eligible for employment. For most other purposes, state id should suffice.
