Accident settlement
We were recently rearended. Our damage was less than our deductibel so went to other persons ins co. they sent us a check if we cash the ck are we settling? What if damage is more than estimate - was told that there could be damage that wasn't visible. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The check almost certainly is legended that cashing it is a setlement. If you settle and the settlement is not enough, you're out of luck.
The insurance company should have authorized the shop to do the repairs.
I assume that you were not hurt; if you were, settling the property claim will preclude a bodily injury claim.
