Legal Question in Insurance Law in New York

Auto accident

I was involved in an auto accident in philadelphis PA, I was not at fault, other party admitted fault. The car was my friends he was insured in NY state. He gave me permission to use his car. I have a valid NY state liscense.I want to know if I am eligable for no fault and how can I do some research. I keep getting different answers from the insurance company. Please give me some direction where I can go for information on this matter.

Since you were using his car with his permission his carrier should provide no fault medical and wage loss coverage to you. If you owned your own car you should also contact your own carrier.

If you and your friend both have insurance in New York, then it doesn't matter that the accident happened in pennsylvania. Nor does it matter if it was your fault.The accident should have been reported to your friend's insurance company, since you were a permissive user of his car, and they should be providing no-fault.

If your friend denies that you had permission, if you have your own car, report it to your insurance company. Explain what is going on.

When there is an accident, an insurance company must be notified about the occurrence both for purposes of future liability, property and collision coverage, and also about all people injured in the accident.

When you go to the doctor, provide them with the insurance company name and policy number, or claim number, and tell them its no-fault. The doctor's office will submit the bill.

If the company is denying coverage, you have left some information out.
