Legal Question in Insurance Law in New York
My Dad died, leaving three adult sons and named my youngest brother as beneficiary of a $15,000 life insurance policy that he was suppose to split evenly, since my Dad was cremated. My brother never got the money because it was intercepted by the state because he owed back child support, does my other brother and I have any recourse,

You are seemingly out of luck. Your father's intentions were clear when he named your brother as the sole beneficiary. Fighting this clear presumption in surrogate's court may clearly cost you more in legal fees than the insurance proceeds.
