Legal Question in Insurance Law in New York
Damage to neighbor's house - sued by their home insurance co.
October - My husband built concrete steps for a neighbor who was in process of moving. No contract. Neighbor paid for materials, not for labor (we tried to get it). Neighbor moved most things but told us they would be back in 3 weeks. My husband used their garden hose to mix concrete. My husband turned the hose water off, rolled it up next to house and left. E-mailed neighbors in Nov. telling them we thought maybe their electric was off, worried pipes might freeze? No response. We received insurance paperwork suing us for $6400 in damages due to burst pipes and water damage in neighbor's basement in December.

If you have a homeowners insurance policy advise them of the suit. If not, hire your own attorney.
Good luck.
