Legal Question in Insurance Law in New York
Not fully conpensated under automobile collision
I owned a vehicle titled in my name and insured by my roomate. I ended up totaling this car. It had all after market parts on it ex. Bodykit, aftermarket fenders, aftermarket suspension, etc. The insurance company stated that they would not cover the costs of those parts, only the blue book value of the car. The car had full coverage on it. Is there a way to recieve full compensation for all the money i put into the car?

Re: Not fully conpensated under automobile collision
It would depend on the type of coverage you had on the car, if you did procure a replacement value or similar type of policy you may very well have a claim against the insurance company for the value of all your additions..however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination.
