Legal Question in Insurance Law in New York
We live in NYS and have been sent a bill for services rendered in an Emergency room after our insurance paid. This seems to be an example of balance billing. We have paid our deductible. Are we legally responsible for this additional amount?

Call the billing department at the hospital and find out the details. If there is an amount outstanding after the insurance payment, try to work out a deal with the hospital to reduce the outstanding balance.
