Legal Question in Insurance Law in New York
Motorcycle death
Is the driver of a motorcycle covered under the insurance policy. Our son was killed while driving his motorcycle when it hit a guardrail and he was thrown from it. We have never been able to get a copy of the policy to see what kind of coverge he had. What are our legal rights as his parents.

Re: Motorcycle death
I am sorry for your loss. Not sure what policy or coverage you are referring to. Presumably your son had insurance coverage on his own motorcycle which would cover him. My firm handles insurance and accident cases and I am available to discuss this further with you. Your question did not indicate when the accident occurred, but you should consult with an attorney promptly to make sure all time limits are met and you are fully aware of your rights. Please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience and we can discuss this in further detail.

Its the same as a car; the question is covered for what? If he had a policy, then he would be entitled to no fault and liabilty coverage if sued.
