Legal Question in Insurance Law in New York
What are my rights?
I have an unpaid hospital bill which the insurance carrier has failed to pay. It amounts to thousands of dollars and I was wondering what my rights are, if any, in fighting this denial of the claim. I was a member in good standing at the time of the hospitalization. Also, a doctor, not affiliated with this group examined me and now he wants to be paid. I never asked for him to come but I think the hospital did, am I obligated to pay him as he was out of the network? Thanks so much...
