name change laws

i have a question. i am a college student in the state of florida; however i am a resident and native of new york city. i am planning to change first and last name. i was wondering, what procedures would i have to go through, and if it does through, who besides my college, should i notify? and also, would that change my status in college (i.e. if i was a sophomore, cowuld a name change bring me back to a freshman level?) i thank you in advance for any help that u can give me.

Re: name change laws

Changing your name will not change your class status. You need to contact everyone who has your name (school, driver's license, etc.) after you get a judgment changing your name.
