Copyright Infringement/Fair Use
Does the displaying of an instruction diagram owned by a third party for purposes of a constructing a "how-to" manual on the Internet constitute "fair use"? If this in-fact constitutes infringement, what possible avenues are there to overcome the infringement, if any?

If it is for any sort of commercial purpose, it is likely not fair use. Otherwise, it depends on the facts, but the answer is still probably not. How to avoid infringement? Don't copy someone else's work.
