Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New York

Copyright Law

The rental management company had me sign a photocopied lease of a Blumberg law in violation of the copyright law. I did not know that at the time. Is my lease valid? I am worried. Thank you

Re: Copyright Law

Your lease is valid if your only concern is a Blumberg "copyright."

Re: Copyright Law

Your lease is valid in the face of a potential copyright violation, if the potential copyright violation is your only concern.

Even if the lease you signed is somehow found by a court to be invalid due to a copyright violation (which occurrence I've never heard of), the management company would simply hire a lawyer to draw up a new lease form and get all tenants who signed the Blumberg form to re-sign the new form.

Copyright protection on lease conveyances is thin, at best, since there are not a lot of ways to say what a lease says.

You can stop worrying.
