Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New York
A graffiti 'artist' and his lawyer is asking for a settlement after I published a photo on Zazzle.com that I took of a vandalized public wall in New York with his (and others) graffiti on it. Unknown to me he had copyrighted his image. I sold one item with the image of the graffiti wall on it,making $3.46. Image has now of course been removed. But his lawyer are threatening me and told me to pay $200 plus legal fees, or it goes further.

The odds that they would engage in what would be federal litigation over this is slim to none. Doing nothing is certainly a valid strategy. Before you do anything further, I strongly suggest you discuss the facts over with a lawyer in private.
