I just received a patent and i would like to know is there a clause that will enable me to receive money from a company just to meet with me to discuss a contractual agreement.

Re: Patent Clause

In the patent document itself, there is not likely to be any such clause. However, a licensing agreement would contain a "granting clause" (allowing the company to use the technology disclosed in your patent) in exchange for payment.

I doubt that you'd get paid for mere discussions and negotiation of a licensing agreement.

Re: Patent Clause

It's not clear in which document you think this clause might exist. In any event, there is nothing in the grant of the patent that gives you a right to compensation merely for such a meeting.

Agreements with potential users of your patent should be drafted and negotiated carefully.

If I can be of assistance, please feel free to get in touch.
