Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New York

I am with a small roller derby team that contracts with a local roller rink for 3 or 4 games a year. Our contract states we split the gross proceeds 50/50 (about $2k a game in total) and that the roller rink is responsible for providing a DJ and pre-game and half-time music.

The roller rink has ASCAP and BMI licenses. Does the roller derby team need them too?
