I have tickets I never paid and I got my licience suspended and I want my license back so what do I do? Is the case closed? Do I have to pay suspension fees? How does this work?

Um...unpaid traffic tickets and drivers' licenses aren't intellectual property ("IP"). IP is patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade dress, trade secrets, licensing of any of the above collateral, franchising.

However, to get your driver's license back in New York, you must satisfy the court that suspended your license. To do that, you can take your summons (usually the tickets) to any local police station within New York State and tell them your tale. They will direct you to the office in that county where you can go to pay off New York traffic tickets. Pay the ticket, the court costs, a surcharge for the no-show, and perhaps interest (they'll tell you in total how much you owe; you might be surprised at how large a simple traffic ticket can become when you ignore it).

If there is a criminal charge associated with the ticket (DUI, for example), you'll also have to satisfy that sentence, which can be substantially more than the requirements of speeding tickets.
