Can a corporate name, ie. ''Plant Inc.'' be trademarked?

Re: Trademark
Trademark rights are gained through use as a trademark. So if you use it to distinctively identify the source of goods or a service, it is a mark.
Registration is another matter and can often be done quickly and relatively inexpensively. A key question is how distinctive the mark is for the goods or service. What good or service is it a mark for?

Re: Trademark
Under many circumstances, the answer is yes, although in the example you gave it's somewhat less likely. Trademarking depends upon both the name itself and the proposed use of the mark - it can be somewhat complicated.
I'd be happy to discuss the matter with you in detail - please feel free to get in touch.
Re: Trademark
It is possible that the name may be able to be trademarked, however it will depend on the goods/services your business provides. Furthermore, you will want to undertake a professional trademark search to make sure nobody else is currently using the mark (or at least nobody else whose use predates yours). Please feel free to contact my office if we can be of any assistance in this matter.
