breaking of contract

prior to 9/11/01 i had both a written and verbal contract with a manufactering company from europe. base on my recommendation the buyers of the department stores in the usa would carry there designer lines. at the last mintue they delayed via telephone.

To my suprize i went shopping a short while ago, only to come across there entire productions on sale in every depatment stores in the new york area.the company signed a nother contract with a nother company!

i should mention that the manufactor involved repersent the top 5 dsigners in the world, and i am sure that these designer or not aware of the dishonesty of this comapany.

i was tthinking of filing a law-suit for at lease 10mil. would a lawyer accept case such as this?

You say you had both a written and verbal contract with the manufacturer. Your rights and remedies depend entirely on whether you really have a contract and what it says. No reputable lawyer (including me) will take on your case without reviewing your "contract" papers and questioning you closely about what happened, when & why. I would be especially curious to know what communications there were between you and the manufacturer between 9/11/01 and just recently, when you went shopping. For example, did you press the manufacturer to begin implementing the contract you thought you had? If so, did the manufacturer affirm that you and he had a contract but offer excuses for delay in beginning its implementation?

Please let me know if you are interested in pursuing this matter with my assistance. As I mentioned above, and to borrow a bridge term, I would start with a "review of the bidding" -- and, unlike some lawyers of my acquaintence, if I reach the conclusion that you do not have a sound breach of contract (or maybe fraud?) claim against the manufacturer, I will say so and advise you to save your money.
