Legal Question in International Law in New York
Singapore Libel Law
Now that Singapore is publishing so many books for the worldwide market, and since writers' contracts specify Singapore as jurisdiction and choice of law for any dispute, what libel issues should a writer be aware of that may differ from US laws (incl. statutes of limitation, etc.)?

Re: Singapore Libel Law
I don't know about Singapore law except that is is less developed on this topic than US law. So with all the publishers available online you should consider using one that will let you use US law for your contract. In any case, you should retain the rights to your manuscript if at all possible and copyright it in the US for yourself. But your Singapore publisher will probably be against all that.
