Legal Question in Investment Law in New York
foreign capital coming into US
A foreign national has contacted me through Career Builder and wants me to invest funds for him in the US. He wants me to fly to Europe to open an account and hire me as his fund manager. I have experience with fund management, what should I be careful of?

Re: foreign capital coming into US
Start with collecting background data on your potential client. Then determine his validity.
Are you traveling to a questionable country, is the account going to be based in the US or Outside, with whom are you going to establish a prime-brokerage agreement?
What you need to be aware of is if you are going to be made a front for those not allowed to conduct business in the US.
