Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in New York

Grand Theft Auto

My 15 year old little brother commited Grand theft auto. He is on Probation and on P.I.N.S. is there any way possible he won't be serving time? This is his second Felony charge. Is there any way to help him and what are the possible out comes?

First there is no crime of Grand Theft Auto. There is a grand Larceny. He should get a lawyer. Usually the charge is Unauthorized use when the driver is a juvi. That however changes if the kid is taking the car to a "chop shop". The best way to help this child is to get him a lawyer who knows what he is doing, put the kid into therapy and work with the therapist to get at the underlying problem (Drugs alcohol depression etc.)
