Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

abuse of employee rights

I work in a call center environment. I wanted to know if it is legal for this company to:

A) Not allow their employees to talk to one another

B) Have the employees take 15min breaks and 1/2 hr for working 8hr shifts 5 days a week

C) Forbid employees to eat or snack at their desks (while supv & mgmt do this very thing)

D) Tell you to hurry up if you have to go to the bathroom

plus host of other things. I have worked all my life and have never seen or heard anything like this company and the way they treat employees

Re: abuse of employee rights

Yes it is legal but it doesn't sound like good policy if they want to keep employees. I bet this company has very high turnover.

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can call my office to schedule an appointment for a consultation or in the alternative, I can be reached for on-phone low-cost legal consultation at 1-800-275-5336 x0233699.
