Is there an Administrative code, OVERTIME punishment

Is there an Administrative code or decision governing OVERTIME or the use overtime as punishment?

There are two pertinent bodies of law, federal and state. Federal Fair Labor Standards Act mostly deals with minimum wage, but may also have stuff on overtime. New York Labor Law and regulations thereunder, also deals with these issues. My recall from looking at the reg's several years ago was that compelled O.T. was illegal, but you ought to go to your attorney and get a firm answer; the reg's are pretty clear, but very prolix . . . too prolix for an internet answer on this one.
