Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
My name is Anthony.I'm a photographer, last night I worked a very big party and everything went very well. The client was happy I was happy. At the end of the night (12:30) as I was about to exit I was stopped by the management of the venue and told that neither I nor any of the other vendors could leave until all the guest had left first. No where in my contract does it state that. I was hired not by the venue but by the party planner. When I told the manager that I had to leave he called security over and block all my exits. So I waited. When they weren't looking I grabbed all my equipment and sneaked out of there. Can they hold me against my will.
